Hey Friends, this is a juvenile Common Snapping turtle one of three admitted to NEWC this week. Each received a veterinary exam, two were found to be in perfect health and one was suffering from a tail wound. The wound is deep but will heal in a few months time, we believe it occurred during his time in captivity when the three snappers were taken from the wild and illegally kept before being surrendered to the Center. Since winter is right around the corner, they will join the group of animals we will care for until warmer spring weather. This is to ensure they have the best chance for survival.
